Narrative of Project : Office of Transport & Traffic Policy & Planning (OTTPP), Ministry of Transport employed a group of Consulting Companies to carry out the Detailed Design of Bangkok Transport System Project (BTS) “Green Line Sky Train” extending Bearing-Samut Prakan. The task is to design an infrastructure, utilities, comprising of traffic management, detail design drawing of workshop and primary design drawing for elevated road at cross section Thepharak road and Puchao Saming Phrai road.
The design works will be favorably for rapid construction action in accordance with government policy in accelerated increasing role, ability and efficiency of travels for relief traffic congestion in Bangkok and neighboring area. This project will help reducing energy loss and improving environmental circumstances.
The detail of project will be elevated structure through out the line route which is extending from the Green Line Sky Train “Onnuch-Bearing” (under construction by BMA). The route will run along Sukhumvit road across Samrong canal, Thepharak and Puchao Saming Phrai cross sections then deviating to the west across elevated Sukhumvit road and Southern Outer Ring Road. The route again return to original route passing Samut Prakan Town Hall and turn left to go alongside Sukhumvit road (to evade MEA cross section flyover), finally return to original route passing Praksa road, Sai Luad cross section and ends at the area of Bangpoo Municipal 55, total distance of 12.8 kilometers.
Highlight : The Elevated Train Bearing-Samut Prakan Project route is extending from the Bangkok Mass Transit System (BMTS) Line Onnuch-Bearing section which ends at Soi Sukhumvit 107 (Bearing). The Project will serve ability and efficiency in traveling of Samut Prakan people and its vicinity to the Greater Bangkok. It is also to relief traffic jam in Bangkok and connected area. The project is significantly to more energy saving and a better environment. Particularly in environmental impact there is very small because the route almost runs along the median (road isle) of Sukhumvit road. According to the public hearing result of the project majority found that they are agreed with the project and desired the construction to start as soon as possible.
