Project Features: To increase the water supply production capacity of Maha Sawat Water Treatment Plant, the Metropolitan Waterworks Authority (MWA) pursues the Water Supply Network Development Project. The water supply production capacity is planned to increase by another 400,000 cubic meters per day (CMD).
Components of the expanding network include:
- elevated raw water channel (of 4 m width, 200 m length and 2.5 m height);
- 2 clarifiers (each of 60,000 m3 capacity) and sludge disposal;
- filters and washing building;
- contract chamber; and
- clearwater tank (400,000 CMD capacity).
The Consultant is assigned by the MWA to undertake the detailed design, preparation of tender documents, cost estimate, and pre-construction services covering assistance in bidding process, i.e. pre-qualification of contractors.
