Brief description of the project: The project comprise the construction of five number of indoor Gymnasiums with the total area of 120,000 sq.m. including utilities and landscape,
- Gymnasium 1, indoor stadium for handball.
- Gymnasium 2, indoor stadium for badminton.
- Gymnasium 3, 5,000 seats for basketball venue and another 3,000 for wrestling venue.
- Gymnasium 4, renovated from the existing gymnasium of Thammasat University and used as indoor stadium for karatedo, taekwando, wushu and judo.
- Gymnasium 5, indoor stadium for sepak takraw, fencing and table tennis. For table tennis and fencing, it can accommodate up to 3,000 people while that for sepak takraw to hold 5,000 people.
This Gymnasiums are distinguished for their “Suspension Structure”, the roof is a large-scale half-circle space truss structure. It assists of the main truss and the secondary truss. The main truss is a three dimensions rigid structure made of H-shape steel. The 90 meters span of the roof is built on the concrete foundation with inclined piles. The truss is fixed to the floor and the ground beam to increase safety.
Brief description of services: The consultant is responsible for construction supervision of architectural work, structural work, mechanical system, electrical and data communication system, security system and sanitary system.
The high light of the project is the success of the implementation of the project regarding an outcome of capable teamwork, entailing a number of different groupsincluding owner’s staff, designers, project management , construction supervision consultant working together with successfully integrated relationships.
