Project description :
The PTTLNG LNG Receiving Terminal is being developed on land reclaimed as part of Map Ta Phut Port Phase 2 development. Sindhu Maunsell, in association with Fluor Daniel Eastern, are carrying out FEED and Project Management for the Terminal on behalf of PTTLNG.
The terminal is to be capable of handling LNG carriers of between 125,000m3 and 264,000m3 capacity and LPG carriers up to 80,000m3 capacity. A phased expansion plan allows for two berths to accommodate these vessels with an option for a third small carrier berth.
Sindhu Maunsell is responsible for all the marine related works including the dredging and reclamation works associated with the new terminal. The dredging and reclamation works will provide the new berthing basins and reclaim the existing silt ponds formed from the Phase 2 port reclamation works.
Sindhu Maunsell undertook the FEED for the marine works, comprising the berths, dolphins, approach trestle, seawater intake and outfall structure and all associated marine related instrumentation. SMC then prepared the EPC performance specification to cover the marine aspects of the EPC terminal works. As part of the FEED process a cost estimate and preliminary Bills of Quantities to derive a cost estimate with a target accuracy of 20%.
The dredging and reclamation contract commenced in September 2007 and Sindhu Maunsell are providing construction supervision services.
Sindhu Maunsell will also provide design review and Project Management services for the marine facilities aspects of the EPC Terminal works.
