Description 9.9 MW. cassava rhizome fired power plant was proposed to establish in Nakhonrachasima, utilizing biomass fuel within radius of 50 km. Site selection, detailed engineering design, financial analysis and Initial Environmental Evaluation (IEE) were carried out by COT to determine the feasibility of the project on technical, investment and environmental aspects.

Construction Cost 740 Million Baht (22 Million $US) (1 $US : 34 Baht)

COT Engagement

1. Detail design of cassava rhizome-fired power plant, including connection with distribution system.

2. Evaluate investment feasibility.

3. Initial environmental evaluation (IEE)

4. Survey of public opinion

5. Organize seminar regarding the study.
