Project Features: Chiangmai Airport was opened in 1986. In 2536 two new fixed bridges were added, and in 1995, the passenger terminal building was expanded into a 3-storey building with a total area of 18,774 sq.m. The building now serves both domestic and international passengers.

In 2003, the Airport saw the total of 2,055 million passengers and 15,879 flights. It is forecasted that in 2011, the total passengers of this airport will reach 3.52 million and the total number of flights will be 29,988.

With the continual increasing of passengers and flights, the AOT plans to expand and develop the Airport and prepares it to be the aviation hub of the region.

The Consultant is thus assigns by the AOT to provide the detailed design and construction supervision services for the Airport.

Components of the project include the modification of the existing terminal building to be a domestic terminal building; the renovation and expansion of runways, taxiways, car park, and cargo building; and the construction of a new international terminal building.
