Brief description of project (attach photos if available) and the works to which the firm’s services were provided :
The Second Bangkok International Airport (SBIA) is located at Nong Ngu Hao area which covers Rajadeva, Nong Prue and Bang Chalong Sub-districts Bang Phli district, Samutprakarn Province. It occupies a total area of 3200 hectares or 32 sq.km. There are totally 5 access roads to SBIA. The boundary line lining with the polder system for flood protection around the whole site area. The major facilities of the airport are.
- Passenger Terminal : covers a total floor area of 500,000 sq.m. to accommodate 30 Million Annual Passenger (MAP) Its capacity upon the completion of future expansion will be 100 MAP.
- Runway – Taxiway System : at first phase runway – taxiway system includes two 3,700 metre long runways, rapid exit taxiway on both runways
- Air Traffic Control Complex : The Air traffic control tower is 90 meters in height with a total floor area of 1000 sq.m.
- Aircraft Maintenance Facility : The aircraft maintenance facility will provide 4 hangars with 2 aircrafts parking space each.
- Cargo Terminal : Cargo terminals include 2 separate complexes with the building area of 190,000 sq.m.
- Fire/Rescue Station : There are 3 stations providing fire/rescue services for the airport.
- Catering Facilities : Catering facilities will provide a total floor area of 90,000 sq.m. which will provide production capacity of 70,000 meals/day
Brief description of the services provided by the firm, or joint venture or consortium :
- Phase I Provided airport master planning, conceptual and schematic design, environmental studies, program control systems and initial budget.
- Phase II Involves advice on packaging of airport systems, development of terms of reference, assistance in selection of detailed designers, and supervision of detailed design of all project facilities.
- PhaseIII Provides for construction management. This involves structuring and implementation of construction tendering processes, management and
coordinatio of all construction work and direction of all contract management.
